Scott Slaba is a journalist and a Certified Public Accountant in Washington State. He holds a Bachelor of Science from Iowa State University of Science and Technology, and a MA in English/Professional Writing from Western Washington University. Scott additionally attended Pacific Lutheran Theological Seminary. He is currently the internal auditor for KingCounty Public Health in Seattle, Washington.
Scott also became a presenter for The Climate Project, an organization dedicated to educating the public about the need to address global warming, in December of 2006.
Scott is an avid mountain biker and a competitive runner, currently in the 61 – 64 age category. He lives in Bellingham with his wife Linda Allen. Linda is a women’s historian, educator, and singer-songwriter. Among other things she currently directs Bellingham’s Threshold Choir. His oldest daughter, Jennifer, lives in Seattle where she works for HUD. His daughter Kristin lives and works in New York. His son, Nathaniel, is a pre-med student at Pacific Lutheran University, where he runs for the Lutes cross country and track teams.

A warming climate could see millions of adult Mexicans migrate to the US as rising temperatures cause a drop in crop yields, according to a study by researchers at Princeton University.
An international team of climate scientists led by the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) has confirmed that climate change is "undeniable" and clearly driven by the "human fingerprints" of greenhouse gas emissions. The findings are based on new data that was not reviewed during the most recent 2007 report by the UN Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change.
