hi there – is it just me !! can any one explain why when i type in the bing browser “theclimatepioneer.org” i get a different site yet whe i type it in google its ok? could this be a bug in my system or is any one else having same probs ?

Great post on “peak coal”! I hadn’t thought about how it could be misused to justify just burning more. I thought it increased the impetus to find ways to implement renewable energy more quickly because now even our alternatives are running out — silly me! Never let it be said that corporate greed and spineless government can’t find new yellow brick roads to lead us down!

The same cadre that owns the oil companies owns the coal companies — and are funding the so-called “tea party.” Check out the Koch brothers expose in August 23 New Yorker written by Jane Mayer entitled “COVERT OPERATIONS The billionaire brothers who are waging war against Obama.”

Thank you for your beautiful and heartfelt commentary on climate change. And I agree with you with all my heart and soul. Whatever is happening to our one and only planet’s climate we, people of the earth, are the only ones that have taken more than our share of the resources, poured our pollution into pristine rivers, oceans, and lakes, and mindlessly separated ourselves from the beauty and riches that sustain our lives. It’s sad to think that we no longer deserve to participate in it’s evolution. I’m doing the best I can to live lightly and pray that a consciousness shift happens before things go beyond the remedial. I feel unsettled that prayer seems to be all I have left to depend upon.

Just to keep you honest Scott, I can remember when you were a young Goldwater Republican. But I also recall that you were concerned about the environment even then! I think that I recall an editorial in the Armstrong Journal siting the deplorable number of pop cans in the East Fork of the upper Des Moines River just below it’s source at the Lake Okamanpedan (Tutle Lake) dam cira Spring 1967 or so. Keep up the good work.
